Valentine’s Day kisses and a contest!

Look what I have to share for Valentine’s Day, courtesy of the talented Lex Chase. That’s right–it’s Nevin and Colin from Love Is Heartless, caught in a romantic moment. Nevin would undoubtedly swear a lot if he knew we were looking.

New Releases for July–and a giveaway

This summer has been crazy with travel, kid stuff, evil day job drama, and more. I also have several projects in various stages of editing. So I haven’t been blogging. But today I have exciting news to share: a new audiobook release and an upcoming new novel!

The audiobook first, since it just came out today.

treasure cover fixedTreasure is the perfect summer listen, with a secluded beach, a mysterious man washed ashore, dastardly pirates, and a bit of magic. Joel Leslie has done a terrific job narrating it. And all my royalties go to Doctors Without Borders. Here’s the link on Audible. It’s also available on Amazon and iTunes.

Staged_600x900But perhaps you’re in the mood for something darker. In that case, Staged will fit the bill. It’s set in an alternate universe very similar to our own, but where slavery is legal. It releases July 18, but if you preorder now from Riptide, you’ll actually be able to download it at midnight on the night of the 15th.

IMG_8875To celebrate, how about a giveaway? The prize package includes a T-shirt (size XL) featuring the fantastic cover art from the Japanese version of Speechless, signed print copies of Brute and Stasis, and a One Pulse sticker (designed by Paul Richmond in support of the Pulse victims). Due to shipping costs, I’m afraid this contest is open to US residents only. However, I’ll pick a second winner from the comments to receive a $10 Riptide gift certificate, and that is open to entrants worldwide. Also a quick shoutout to eliter-packaging.com for helping me with my packages. Just comment on your summer reading plans, and make sure you leave your email address in the comment so I can contact you if you win.

Jesse’s in a pinch. To keep control of his company, he has to marry. So he has valid reasons for offering Chris this business deal: in exchange for living in a gorgeous mansion for a year, playing the doting husband, Chris gets all the writing time he wants and walks away with a million-dollar payoff. Surely Chris can handle that. He can handle living with the most handsome and endearing man he’s ever met, a man he immediately knows he wants in the worst way and can’t have. Or can he?

KeptTearsFSKept Tears by Jana Denardo
Having left most of his arm and his self-confidence behind in the Afghanistan desert, young veteran Aaron Santori has enough on his plate learning to use his prosthetic arm. Attending graduate school at the University of Pittsburgh makes life both interesting and challenging. Mentally, he’s ill prepared for meeting Rhys Edwards, a young-adult novelist from Wales and everything Aaron could want in a man. Between the scars from the explosion and his PTSD, he’s reluctant to date. Ready or not, though, Aaron finds himself jumping into the deep end of the relationship waters.

What Aaron couldn’t possibly know is that Rhys isn’t human at all. As a prince of the Tylwyth Teg, Rhys is a fae with a list of enemies he’s accumulated over the past few centuries – among them a former lover, Morcant, who is back to make Rhys’s life miserable. An unwitting pawn in their Machiavellian fae politics, Aaron only knows he’s falling in love, never suspecting love might be his death sentence.

Blurb:

This couldn’t be happening. The plane couldn’t be going down.

As production assistant, David McIntyre has been enjoying the heck out of his current assignment: touring the Hawaiian Islands in search of the ideal shooting locations for a series of company projects. What’s not to like? Stunning scenery, great food, sunny beaches…and indulging in his crush on his hot pilot-for-hire, Rick Sutton.

Everything changes when a tropical storm and engine failure force a crash landing on a deserted atoll somewhere in the South Pacific. Sutton’s injuries and a lack of food and water make rescue imperative, but it takes an intensely vivid dream about the Battle of Britain to make David see that Rick is more than just a pilot to him. Will David gather his courage to confess his feelings to Rick—before it’s too late?

GA Final 101515Gone Away by Elizabeth Noble

Blurb:

Mason Arquette isn’t one for mincing words. In fact, he often rubs people the wrong way—with the exception of Riece Burrell. Riece came with his own set of social issues, but he saw right through Mason’s tough exterior, and they made a perfect couple. Or so Mason thought… until Riece abruptly ended their relationship without much explanation.

Years later, Mason and Riece are thrown back together. As a US Forestry Service photographer, Riece is sent on assignment to the Black Hills, where Mason works. When Mason is tasked with guiding Riece around the territory, old feelings quickly are rekindled.

But nothing is ever easy. Just as Mason and Riece begin to work things out, they’re targeted by people with motives so vile and twisted they defy imagination. In a desperate race for their lives, they must depend on one another and take a big step out of their personal comfort zones to find their way back to safety—and back to love.

Haiku contest!

I’ve begun my year productively, submitting my 14th novel, finishing the galley proofs on another novel, and completing the first draft of a novella. All while suffering with a cold because yes! I am that studly.

Another thing I recently did was finish listening to K.C. Kelly’s narration of Rattlesnake. I knew he’d do a wonderful job, but he actually exceeded my expectations. It’s a longish book but I did a bunch of extra walking (I only allow myself listen to audiobooks if I’m walking) just to hear him read.

I thought it would be fun to celebrate the new year and my recent productivity, and I have a copy of the Rattlesnake audiobook to give away! How can you have a chance at winning? Comment here with an m/m romance-related haiku. We’ve done this before and it was really fun. The rules:

  1. Enter by commenting here with your haiku
  2. Must conform to traditional haiku format (3 lines: 5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables) as in the examples below
  3. Must have something to do with m/m romance
  4. Must be your own original work
  5. May concern m/m romance in general or include specific characters (mine or another author’s)
  6. Include your email at the end so I can reach you if you win
  7. You may enter as many times as you wish
  8. Entries close January 17 at noon, PST
  9. Entries will be evaluated by a panel of judges (yet to be determined). Winner gets the audiobook. The judges’ determination of a winner is final.
  10. Have fun and please spread the word!

Cover Reveal: The Sacrifice & Other Stories

Sacrifice color

The Sacrifice and Other Stories–available now for preorder!

I’m very pleased to reveal Catherine Dair’s beautiful cover for my new anthology. The anthology is available for preorder now and will release on November 27. It’ll also seen be available in a print edition. Perfect fof holiday gift-giving!

This anthology contains two brand-new fantasy short stories. It also contains three novellas and two additional shorts–over 400 print pages of m/m fantasy romance!

And you know what’s even better? I’m donating 100% of my Royalties to Doctors Without Borders.

A sickly man seeks recovery in a seaside cottage.

A temple slave tends a man due to be sacrificed.

A soldier releases a genie.

In seven fantasy short stories and novellas, men find passion with other men in the most unexpected places, and even the gravest circumstances may open the door to hope and love.

This anthology includes two brand-new short stories. In “The Sacrifice,” Rylo is a temple slave tasked with comforting a man who is scheduled to be killed in the morning. In “Chasing Away Cold,” Daku builds an ice sculpture of the god Jarli in order to ensure the end of winter. The collection also includes three novellas and two additional short stories, gathered for the first time in a single volume. “Treasure” introduces Jules, a young man who travels to the quirky seaside town of Urchin Cove to regain his health—and finds an unexpected treasure washed up on the beach. Xolani, a soldier in “Three Wishes,” picks up a small glass bottle and unleashes a surprise. Another soldier, Volos in “Guarded,” will risk everything to save Prince Berhanu. In the sequel, “Mato’s Tale,” an unassuming innkeeper gets a chance for adventure. And in “The Downs,” Enitan is unjustly banished and comes to discover that the demons he must face aren’t the ones he expected.

Join Kim Fielding on journeys through imagined worlds where magic is commonplace and romance lies just around the next bend. All royalties from the sale of this book will be donated to Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontiers.

To celebrate, I have a nice little giveaway. So please preorder, enter the contest, and spread the word!

Introducing Jimmy and Shane

Rattlesnake_headerbanner

I’ve already revealed L.C. Chase’s beautiful cover for Rattlesnake. If you haven’t already, enter the giveaway. And preorder a copy for yourself!

I’d like to introduce you now to the main characters. The beautiful art is by Catherine Dair.

Jimmy colorThis is Jimmy Dorsett. He’s a drifter and has been since his teens. He’s a storyteller who doesn’t always stick to the truth–even when he’s telling stories to himself. He’s driving his dying car through the desert when he picks up a hitchhiker. Jimmy ends up on a quest to Rattlesnake, a little town in the Sierra foothills. That’s where he meets Shane.

Shane colorShane Little used to work as a cowboy on his family ranch, but a terrible accident changed his life. Now he’s the bartender at the historic Rattlesnake Inn. Despite the difficulties he encounters every day, Shane isn’t one to wallow. He’s stubborn and enthusiastic, and seems to have a lot more faith in Jimmy than Jimmy does. Shane owns four identical blue plaid Pendleton shirts.

I love these two men, and Cath certainly did them justice with her art. And I’ll have swag with their images at GRNW and GRL. I hope you fall in love with Jimmy and Shane too!

You know what? I’ll choose one commenter on today’s post to receive signed copies of Jimmy and Shane trading cards. Just comment below with your answer to this question: If you had to eat the same breakfast every Monday, what would it be? I’ll pick a winner on August 8.

Rattlesnake Cover Reveal and Contest

I’ve been impatiently waiting for this for weeks… but it’s finally time to reveal the cover to Rattlesnake, my upcoming novel. Ta-dah!

Rattlesnake_Final

I have the very talented L.C. Chase to thank for this beautiful cover, which captures the book’s setting and feel perfectly. And I’m so excited about this one! Jimmy and Shane have totally stolen my heart. Here’s the blurb:

A drifter since his teens, Jimmy Dorsett has no home and no hope. What he does have is a duffel bag, a lot of stories, and a junker car. Then one cold desert night he picks up a hitchhiker and ends up with something more: a letter from a dying man to the son he hasn’t seen in years.

On a quest to deliver the letter, Jimmy travels to Rattlesnake, a small town nestled in the foothills of the California Sierras. The centerpiece of the town is the Rattlesnake Inn, where the bartender is handsome former cowboy Shane Little. Sparks fly, and when Jimmy’s car gives up the ghost, Shane gets him a job as handyman at the inn.

Both within the community of Rattlesnake and in Shane’s arms, Jimmy finds an unaccustomed peace. But it can’t be a lasting thing. The open road continues to call, and surely Shane—a strong, proud man with a painful past and a difficult present—deserves better than a lying vagabond who can’t stay put for long.

It’s a contemporary with a bit of a Western drawl, and at almost 81K words, it’s a little on the longer side.

It will release August 31, and I have a fun blog tour planned, with lots of interviews and a giveaway. But why wait? You can preorder now from Dreamspinner Press! And you know what else? It’s 25% off, but only through July 31. So hurry!

And let’s celebrate the cover reveal, shall we?
